Different groups of people are affected in different ways by COVID-19. Most infected people experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without hospitalization.
1. The most common symptoms are:
Loss of taste or smell
2. Less common symptoms are:
Soreness and pain
Rash, discoloration of fingers or toes
Red or inflamed eyes
3. Serious symptoms include:
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Speech or movement difficulties, or confusion
If your symptoms are severe, seek medical attention immediately. Please call before seeing a doctor or going to a medical facility.
People with mild symptoms who were otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home.
Typically, patients develop symptoms 5–6 days after contracting the virus, but symptoms may not appear until 14 days later.
